Set Apart Creative Artists /Be NOT Lured Away (Part 1)

not lured away

How can we, as servants of the Lord, in the ministry of the creative arts be kept from being lured away by the trinkets of this world and the devil?

The answer to this question, can be found all throughout the Father’s word but here, I was led to highlight just one scripture and in later posts, I’ll reference others. But let’s take a look at Psalm chapter 16 verses 5 and 6 which reads: O Lord, You are my portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.

I referenced this verse because see, it’s not until we allow ourselves to be delivered by the Father, to the point where, were able to truly see the Father, as being THE portion of our inheritance, our cup, maintaining our lot, and how ALREADY the lines have fallen unto us in pleasant places; and we DO have a good and phenomenal inheritance, that we then, can be kept from the enemy’s tactics.

For when we believe Psalm 16:5-6 whole heartily, despite what we see or in comparison to, without basing this on any materialistic things, it’ll be then, that we can even have Psalm 16:5-6 as a resolve in our spirit and be kept from being lured away. In fact, whether we’ve come to believe this or not yet, still, in decreeing this quite often to ourselves, the atmosphere, and enemy, there is power in His word to do for us, what we in and of ourselves can’t.

So, by us crying these verses out unto the Father in prayer, over and over again, while on our journey, it’ll help us to keep things in the right perspective, when the trinkets, persuasion, and deception comes our way, to try to tempt us to compromise.

Yes, when we come to receive this revelation about this being truth, in our lives, in essence, what we’re telling the Father, is that He is our all in all. And everything that we receive hallelujah, comes from Him and Him alone, giving it and maintaining it, and how the places in what he has already given, has been pleasant.

However, on the contrary, if we don’t receive this revelation, then what happens is, we will be always be looking for outside stimuli from things and people etc. to make us feel, as if we’ve arrived. Yet, in this position, we’ll do whatever it is we need to do, to keep their praise and trinkets coming, but in this place, we’ll be wide open for the enemy to work His magic on us.

Therefore, to be kept, let’s DO meditate on this word and ask, the Father to help us receive this as truth within our spirit.

Inspiration: This particular piece was inspired as I myself while in my prayer closet, meditated on Psalm 16:5-6 and in doing so, I found myself as well, crying this out to the Father. Decreeing and declaring His word back to Him and letting my soul know, once again, that the Father, is my portion. When I did this, I could literally feel things in the atmosphere shift. Being that we live in a world, where there’s so much value placed on trinkets and things, we all do need to constantly be protected from, shielded from, cleansed and detoxed from etc. in order to have the Father’s correct perspective.

Refuse to eat the Kings Delicacies

Beloved, let’s NOT or should I say

No longer eat the delicacies that are widely spread all over the table for us to eat

And indulge ourselves in, Let’s Not be drunk to the fullest with…

Let’s NOT touch Though it has a way of looking so appeasing And is presented in a way, of there being no limits Though our flesh may at times yearn for it due to us being in the flesh And positioned where we have to see others engulfed in it

Still, I prophetically implore you, not to touch it. Not to give in to what your eyes see,

Being that which looks so pleasurable

Yes, don’t do it!

But instead, let’s be like Daniel and his friends which chose not to touch, Not to defile themselves, but to instead turn away from.

Even though they were given by the king himself, all access Yet, they chose to take that which was less That in which others saw no value in Choosing to deny themselves with water and vegetables, choosing to put their trust and dependence not in man or in what man said gives strength and beauty.

But to instead, put their trust solely, in the Lord and receive their manna from His hand, receive their supernatural impartation from the Father to stand and even cause them, because of their devotion to out shine all others.

Therefore, I encourage you to turn away from the king’s table To politely not accept it Such that you may NOT eat from the tree that will cause death Like Adam and Eve Because make no mistake about it There is a plan from satan himself to trick, deceive, and ultimately steal, kill, and destroy

And so, like never before I implore, you to be temperate Be self-controlled Do take the pain of your flesh not getting what it wants Because if not, it will cost you a high price of eternal regret.

It Does Not Take Many But Does Take Just ONE

It only takes 1

In being a Set Apart Creative Artists for the Lord, one of the things we must continue to lay hold of and keep in the forefront of our minds is the profound truth of how, it does not take many however, it does take one.

In essence, what this truth reveals is that, though we live in a world system that tries to make us think that in order for us to be successful, we must be at many events, meet many people, be involved with many clicks, sell as many items or products as we can, use our talents and gifts in front of big huge crowds, be here, be there, do this, etcetera yet, truth is, this is not so, in God’s kingdom. In fact, it is in direct opposite to His way of doing things.

Because in operating in that way, what we’re doing is operating out of mostly sight and what we think we ourselves or others can do for us, opposed to trusting in God, walking in faith, and receiving what only He can do.

You see, when we sight walk instead of faith walk, this is an extreme danger. For God’s Word tells us that the just shall live by faith.

Therefore, as a way to help keep all of us correctly aligned with the Lord concerning this, and as a way to prevent us from exerting and wasting MUCH time, energy, and effort and ultimately displeasing the Lord, we must again and again keep this truth of how… it does not take many, but it does take just one etched in our mind and spirit.

This way we’ll begin to truly, only go where he’d have for us to go and do and say, what only he’d have us to do and say, with His pure motives. For then and only then, will we be kept by Him, in His rest, in His complete purpose, while being granted the access to receive the blessings, abundance, and prosperity that can only come securely from God.

Proverbs 10:22 tells us: The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.

Ministers Unto the Lord

May 5th 2013 010 ministers unto lord

Like never before, the Lord is searching to and fro, throughout the whole earth looking for Ministers unto Him.

Minister’s whose main priority is to minister unto Him, opposed to the focus being on ministering to His people. You see, folks have been majoring on ministering unto the Lords people, and because they’ve been doing that, many have been misled to think they’re actually ministering unto Him, in the precise way He so desires.

What I mean by this is… what people need and what God wants from us, in most cases are truly, two different things. And unfortunately, due to us having seen so much flesh displayed within the body, with no signs, miracles, or wonders this so called way of ministry, has almost just become known, as the norm.

However, the Lord is looking for those who’ve received revelation from Him, on how He likes to be ministered unto.

And in order to minister unto Him, in a way, which truly pleases Him, know that, it will take Him, to reveal it unto those of us who have more of a desire to please Him than man.

In other words, to know how to minister unto the Lord in a pure authentic way is NOT a flesh produced thing, but can come only by way of His Spirit revealing it unto His Spirit within us.

In fact, to show how what the Lord wants from us and what people need or want from us is different I’ll refer you to the books of Exodus and Leviticus. Because here in these books you can actually see how, the priests were required by the Lord to minister unto Him on a constant basis, and how the Lord gave specific clear instructions as to how He wanted this ministry to take place. Much of which, were private things that had nothing to do with others.

Which brings me to say, there’s a lot of things that the Father wants both you and I to do as a way to bring Him pleasure, to delight ourselves in Him, that do not have anything to do with others.

Though, this truth is backwards to what many of us have been taught. Truth is, when were ministering unto the Lord, in the way he’d have for us to, it’s then we’ll be assured to know that His people, as a result to our pure devotion unto the Lord, WILL be ministered to as well.

Yes, when the Lord becomes our first priority of ministry, then when we do minister to people it’ll be then, that we WILL operate in signs, miracles, and wonders. Hitting the target opposed to just shooting amiss with hype.

A biblical example of one we can refer to who had the revelation of being a minister of the Lord, was David. For David knew that the Lord wanted and enjoyed ALL of his attention, affection, devotion, and worship privately. And since, pleasing the Lord was David’s priority, as a result of his private ministry unto the Lord not only was David blessed tremendously, but it also directly blessed an innumerable amount of people. Not to mention, God himself. For David despite his flaws was called by God as being a man after His own heart.

Thus, I caution you against the whole, I gotta serve here, gotta go there, gotta do this and that for the people or for Bishop, Pastor, Elder, Prophetess, etc…all in the name of serving and instead, I exhort you to make certain you make the Lord your first priority of ministry and let the Lord do the rest through you.

Let’s do desire and make it our aim to be known by the Lord as His minister vs. only being the people’s ministers. Let’s let our private life with God begin to speak louder than all else. Amen

Humility and the Vital need for it!

Humility was placed strongly in my spirit as a concept and principle in which I needed to expound upon because it is truly a prerequisite for using our gifts and talents in a “set apart way”.  I also was led to go into greater depth about being humble because pride is very blatant among some who call themselves Christian artists.  I believe this exists because there is such a lack of true understanding about the severity and detestation of pride in God’s eyes.

Unfortunately, possession of a proud spirit has almost become normal among Christians.  Quite a few artists give very little thought to being prideful in their dealings with others and in the way they view themselves and gifts.  Many do not know that God absolutely hates pride.  Why?  One of the main reasons is because it’s the exact opposite of what He loves, humility.

However, humility is totally contrary to the world’s way of doing and thinking about things.  In this world, it is all about you and nobody else; it is all about what you can do, how well you can do it, how beautiful or handsome you look, what you have, and how skilled you are at this and that and on and on.  This being the case, when you use your talents specifically for the world you do so, in a way to intentionally lift yourself up and not the name of the Lord.  This world’s system is a self-centered and self-indulging system.

On the other hand, in God’s Kingdom because He paid such a dear price for us . . .  not with money but with the very blood of Jesus, His Son (1 Peter 1:18-19), our talents are no longer intended to be used for serving ourselves, and/or satan.  They’re meant to be used to serve God and bring Him glory and to collectively bless both His Body (the Body of Christ) and non-believers.  James 4:10 tells us when we humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord, HE will lift us up.

One thing I personally do to humble myself is this, whenever I’m invited to go and use my talents somewhere, I go with the attitude that I am there to serve opposed to be served. And so, I on purpose, look for ways I can assist in anyway once I arrive (and I arrive early by the way, for this purpose). Now in my assisting, this can be with anything from the setting up of the event or the cleaning up after and or other things.

What about you, what are some things you do as a Christian Artist to intentionally humble yourself in the sight of the Lord as well as, in the sight of others?

This is a brief excerpt from the chapter “Humble Yourself” in book I wrote entitled, “The Set Apart Way for Christ Centered Creative Artists” How to use your gifts and talents in a way where God gets all the Glory.
